Cookies
What are Cookies?
Cookies are text files with small pieces of data — such as a username and password — that are used to identify your computer as you use a computer network. Specific cookies, known as HTTP cookies, are used to identify specific users and improve their web browsing experience.
The data stored in a cookie is created by the server upon your connection. This data is labeled with an ID unique to you and your computer.
When the cookie is exchanged between your computer and the network server, the server reads the ID and knows what information to specifically provide to you.
We use cookies on this website to improve functionality, provide you with a better browsing experience, and tailor our advertising on social media. These are the cookies we may use:
Strictly Necessary Cookies:
These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will not work. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.
Performance Cookies:
These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies we will not know when you have visited our site, and will not be able to monitor its performance.
Functional Cookies:
These cookies enable the website to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies then some or all of these services may not function properly.
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year. Screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
Like most websites, we use analytics tools to improve user experience and StudyWing’s functionality. These reports include page views, unique views, unique visitors, returning visitors, frequency of visits, and peak traffic periods. We do not use this service to collect, request, record, require, or monitor any user’s personally identifiable information.
Purpose of personal data collection
Your personal data will be collected and used for Marketing purposes through newsletters, suggestions, news, and special offers.

The following categories of personal data may be collected through the channels and services described in this Privacy Policy:
- Name
- Phone / Mobile Number
How long we retain your data
For the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, the general information you provide will be kept for three years. However, if you use any of our services, you will be subject to additional notices and/or information that we will provide as part of our services; in this case, data will be kept for up to five years after your graduation/program completion, unless you instruct us otherwise. This will allow us to track your university and career destinations and thus assist future students. Any statistical analysis reports we publish will not identify any individual.
If you have given your consent and wish to withdraw it, you can choose to opt-out at any time by contacting us directly at info@studywing.org, or by unsubscribing via any email sent by us.
What rights you have over your data
As a personal data subject and in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you hold the following rights, which you can exercise at any time:
Right of Access and Portability:
If you have registered on this site or left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us, as well as its transfer to another entity.
Right to Rectification and Updating:
You have the right to correct any personal data that is incorrect, outdated, or incomplete.
Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten):
You can request that we permanently delete all personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data that StudyWing is legally obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Right to Object and Restriction:
You have the right to object to the processing of your data (for instance, for marketing campaigns) or to request the temporary or permanent restriction of its processing.
To exercise any of these rights, simply send us a direct request via email to info@studywing.org.
If you consider that the processing of your personal data violates the GDPR or that your rights have not been properly safeguarded, you also have the right to lodge an official complaint with the competent supervisory authority. In Portugal, this authority is the CNPD – Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (www.cnpd.pt).
Your personal data is treated with the utmost confidentiality and will only be shared with third parties under the following strictly necessary circumstances:
Educational Institutions:
In the case of students enrolled in our services, the strictly necessary data will be transmitted to the Educational Institutions (Colleges, Schools, or Universities) to which the student wishes to apply, counting on the express consent of the student when starting the process.
Service Providers (Technological Platforms):
In order to manage your requests and communicate with you effectively, we use reliable external tools. This includes sharing contact details with Zoho CRM (for managing and receiving data from web forms) and with MailChimp (a platform used to manage and execute the sending of newsletters and marketing communications).
Automated Security Services:
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service to protect our system.
International Data Transfers:
Since the third-party platforms we use (such as Zoho and MailChimp) are managed by companies headquartered globally, your personal data may be transferred to and stored on servers located outside the European Economic Area (EEA), namely in the United States. We guarantee that these transfers are carried out in strict compliance with the GDPR, being safeguarded by adequacy decisions of the European Commission (such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework) or by standard contractual clauses, ensuring the same level of protection and security that your data has in Europe.
How you can change or withdraw your consent
You may, at any time, change or withdraw your consent, with effect for the future. Upon total withdrawal of your consent declarations, you will no longer be contacted or receive communications for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
To withdraw consent, you can click on the “OPT OUT” option that accompanies every communication that StudyWing carries out with its subscribers.
